Thomas Sangster Biography And Pics 2012

Thomas Sangster
Biography:
THOMAS SANGSTER's television debut was in the BBC Film The Adventures of Station Jim, playing alongside Prunella Scales, George Cole and Frank Finley. The telefilm was a delightful story about a runaway orphan finding sanctuary on a steam railway. This was followed by a lead role in the Showtime Original film Bobbie's Girl, in which he was cast alongside Jonathan Silverman, Bernadette Peters and Rachel Ward.
Immediately after, he was whisked off to Vancouver to take the lead in The Miracle Of The Cards, the telefilm version of the true story of Craig Shergold, who was diagnosed with cancer at age ten and recovered with the help of an anonymous benefactor and enough get-well cards to enter him into The Guinness Book of World Records.
Thomas then appeared in the BBC's Emmy and BAFTA award-winning adaptation of Clive King's wonderful story, Stig of the Dump. It tells the tale of Barney and his friendship with a caveman named Stig. Thomas received glowing reviews as Barney, all wide-eyed wonder and innocent adventurer.
He next appeared in the action telefeature Daddy, which gave him the opportunity to work alongside Klaus Maria Branduer. This was Thomas' first thriller and he loved all the action scenes, explosions, shootouts and car chases. His performance won him the Best Actor in a mini-series award at the 2003 Monte Carlo Film Festival.
Love Actually was Thomas' first international feature film in which he played Liam Neeson's son, and for which he received a Satellite Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a musical or comedy. His training for Love Actually involved learning how to play the drums, perform cartwheels and (most challenging of all), have his first screen kiss.

Rudolph's roundup

Well, I think my big list of potential makes was a tad optimistic! An awful lot of my time (far more than I had originally anticipated) was spent knitting the rudolph jumper.

I'm not going to lie. It was a hard make. Perhaps not the best pattern to knit my first jumper from. That may be a little harsh though - the plain red bits were fairly straightforward, it was just knitting the reindeer that slowed me down. It wasn't until half way through I finally figured out how to strand properly, so inside the top half looks all neat and tidy, like this....

Whilst the bottom half looks a fine mess...

I had a few heart stopping moments though. When I reached the top of the antlers, I realised I'd forgotten to shape the armholes. The thought of having to frog 20 rows made me feel more than a little sick, and I didn't touch it for a week - I didn't want to make yet more mistakes by rushing into correcting it. And then when I knitted the neckband to join the front and back together the night before I was due to go back to my mum's, I realised that I couldn't fit it over my head, so there was no way it would fit over my brother in law's head. Rather than have to frog and reknit the neckband, mum had the genius idea of using buttons on the shoulder. This led to a last minute dash to a local knitting store with my mum (about 30 mins before it was due to close on Chistmas eve) to find some suitable buttons...

Still, it was suitably appreciated by the new owner, who modelled it with great aplomb. He even wore it down the pub on Christmas day (although, sadly no photos of that!).

OK, so there's no sleeves, but I think he carries it off! Plus, what else could his present be next year? I still seem to have quite a lot of red yarn left, so I put some of it to good use when wrapping.

I'm still loving the Christmas bunting though, and I might make some more bunting next year in the smaller size for the other shelves. Sadly the ribbon wreath didn't work out. I'm not sure if it was the type of ribbon I bought, or using a wire form rather than foam, but after adding about 20 bows, I realised it looked more like something to be used when dancing round the maypole, rather than a classy Christmas wreath. Next year, I'll attempt the felt flower wreath now that Adele has pointed me in the right direction of foam wreaths!

And while I keep thinking that's all I've made this Christmas, I also made a fair few make up bags and tote bags.

So, that's it for 2011.  See you all next year!

Round up of Christmas presents

Here is a little look at some homemade Christmas presents. Both the ones I made and gave away and the ones I got. For more inspiration check out my Pinterest board "Making Christmas Gifts 2011" and my blog Eddie's room.

BEST 2 more days in 2011!!!

 2 more days in 2011!
Please finish unfinished things before 2012 comes!

I went to a concert with my sister yesterday.
The singer's name is Masaharu Fukuyama.
He is also an actor, song writer and entertainer.
My sister is a big fan of him and I started to listen to his songs.

During the concert, we saw a video looking back his 2011.
Of course, the video included the scenes of the East Japan Disasters on 311.
And what he did was also shown.
About 17,000 people at concert hall watched and  nodded, sharing the same feeling and emotions.
As one of them, many memories and emotions came up in my mind.

At the end of the year, there are many TV programs and events, looking back the year 2011.
Some scenes and facts are new.
Now we can hear the true voices of people who suffered.

I guess all the Japanese share the same feeling right now.

Japanese will never forget the year 2011.

My life was changed a lot this year.
At some points, I felt nothing moved on.
But when I looked back, my life was changed dramatically.

However, I didn't expect this change.
I was reluctant and not determined.
I was like drifting.

But when I was watching the sufferers doing their best, and people supporting them.
I thought I could do more!
I decided to be willing to give as much love, talents and whatever I can give as possible next year!

And I'll be more proud of myself as Japanese!

Japaneses are known as modest.
We don't boast of ourselves.
Although we get praise, we tend to refuse it.

For example,
If something bad happens, it is my fault.
If something good happens, it thanks to you.

I believe this is good but I guess we'll change in the future.

I like to boast of being a Jap`nese.
And I like to tell many people all over the world how wonderful Japan and Japanese are!
I believe Japan will change!

I also like to become a person who can move and touch people's feeling because I was moved and touched by many people who did their best during their hardship.

I don't know what I can do now. I just decided!
That's my next year's resolution

At the end, I like to introduce the song of Masaharu Fukuyama.
The theme of this song is `KIZUNA' meaning `bonds or ties'.
KIZUNA is also the them of this year for all Japanese.

The title is `Kazoku ni narouyo' meaning `let's become a family'.
Although the song is Japanese, please enjoy the music!
Please have the BEST 2 more days in 2011!!!

Oliver + S Explorer Vest and a Knitting Needle Roll

Greetings, Crafty Christmas-ers!  I hope you all were able to finish up your projects before Christmas.  I completed my last Christmas gift on Christmas Eve morning thanks to a cold that decided to show up last week and knock me on my ass for a few days.

I made the Explorer Vest from Oliver + S' Little Things to Sew for my nephew.

Explorer Vest

I'm happy to report that he loves it!  He promptly shoved all of his spy gear into all of the pockets!

The pattern was really easy to follow.  I'm so excited to make more projects from the book.  More information can be found on my blog.

My last Christmas-y project was for my mom's birthday.  It is today and since she's getting back into knitting, I made her a roll to keep her knitting needles in.  I used the Tool Roll pattern from Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing.  It was pretty easy to follow but I made a few modifications (more info on that can be found here).  Since I've been wanting one too, I made us matching needle rolls!

Knitting Needle Roll

I don't know about you guys, but I am so happy that Christmas crafting is over!  I've had a great time reading about all of your crafting adventures.  Until next year!

Cheers,

New Year Greeting Cards

Soon after Christmas was over, we have to be ready for the New Year.
House cleaning, special-meals cooking, New Year decoration....etc.

I finally finished my New Year greeting cards.

The card includes my photo and pottery work.
Since they have a special stamp, all cards arrive on the New Year although they are mailed a week before.
Of course, there is the time limit and if it's too late, they will arrive after the New Year holiday is over.

Now it's very convenient we can make cards by computer.
Before I bought it, I did all hand-writing with some stamps.
I'll write messages and mail them.

These days, people send the New Year messages by mail.
But I still like to write to give special thanks of this year, and happiness and friendship of next year.

The animal of the year 2012 is Dragon!
We have 12 animals, Chinese zodiac.
Dragon is the only legendary animal of 12.
So the year 2012 is not usual.
Something we never expected will happen.
Good or Bad things are all up to your mind and heart.
Please always visualize whatever you really expect to happen!

This painting is done by Seiji Fujishiro.
I visited his show and we were free to take photos of his works.
I love his paintings and generosity.

I seem to work this New Year's eve and New Year.
Friends of my friend came to Japan and I'll guide them.
This is my first time to work at these days.
I had refused to work at New Year's eve and New Year because everything was unusual and I preferred spending with my family and friends.
Oh! I lose no time in doing something unusual!!
I'm excited at new experience!
Since it is the first time for them to visit Japan, I'll do my best to support them and enjoy together!!

For all of my friends,
Thank you very much for your friendship of this year especially during our hardship.
I wish you wonderful New Year holidays with your family and friends.
When I visit a temple or shrine at New Year, I'll pray for your happiness, health and whatever you wish for the year 2012!!
Love,
Chiaki

Tobey Maguire Profile, Bio, Pics And Wallpapers

Tobey Maguire Profile
Tobey Maguire
Name: Tobey Maguire
Born: 27 June 1975 (Age: 35)
Where: Santa Monica, California, USA
Height: 5' 8"
Awards: Nominated for 1 Golden Globe

Biography:
Tobey Maguire
For a while back there, it wasn't looking too good for Tobey Maguire. Crazily ambitious, having chosen to leave school and forge an acting career at the tender age of 13, he had conspicuously failed to become the new De Niro. Beyond that, his best buddy, Leonardo DiCaprio  had hit massively with Titanic and was one of the biggest stars in the world. So Tobey - sensitive, struggling Tobey - was better known as a member of DiCaprio's posse. All feelings of loyalty apart, it must have hurt.
And then it all changed. After a string of classy, award-winning productions - Pleasantville, The Cider House Rules, Ride With The Devil and Wonder Boys - suddenly Maguire was hot. And then came Spider-Man. Taking $114 million in its first weekend, it slaughtered many of cinema's proudest records. Seabiscuit followed, another smash. Maguire was hotter than hot, certainly hotter than DiCaprio. And, his family having been dirt-poor for so many years, he was very rich, taking $17 million for Spider-Man 2. Tobey's certainly enjoyed some major ups and pitiable downs. Here's how he did it.
Tobias Vincent Maguire was born on the 27th of June, 1975, in Santa Monica, California, to very young parents. His father, Vincent, a chef and sometime construction worker, was just 20. His mother, Wendy, a secretary, was even younger, at 18. The couple would marry some two years after, but separate the same year. Later, Tobey would be presented with a half-sister, Sara, and a half-brother, Timothy, to add to half-brother Vincent, born in '72.
Tobey Maguire
It was an extremely tough time for Tobey. Shuttling between his mum and dad, his aunts, uncles and grandparents, he moved up and down the coast of California constantly, and on up to Oregon and Washington. Never settling anywhere, he made no real friends, and was an outsider - if not downright unpopular - wherever he went. One good thing about having no friends, says Tobey, was that he spent his time watching people, wondering what made them tick. This was partly because he had no one to talk to, partly to see if he could trust the watchee. In the future, it would make it easier for him to inhabit a character's skin.
Worse still, with his parents struggling to make ends meet, the family was always poor. His mother worked hard but still they spent time on Welfare, using food stamps and Medi-Cal. Tobey recalls running from a store when his mother paid with stamps (he's sorry now, recognising that his actions added to his mother's own humiliation). For father Vincent, the situation never got any better. In 1993, he robbed a bank in his hometown, Reseda and, caught just one hour later, was jailed for two years. It was taken into account that he was desperate, and this was a first offence.
